Simple, sustainable marketing that actually works—because growing your travel business shouldn’t feel like a second job.
In the second episode of the Sales Workshop Series by Travefy’s The Lounge podcast, we dove into one of the toughest challenges travel advisors face, marketing without burning out.
Featuring insights from the conversation with travel advisor and business strategist Roslyn Ranse, this episode unpacked how to simplify marketing, focus on human connection, and create sustainable habits that actually generate leads.
Because let’s face it—most travel advisors didn’t start their business to spend hours scheduling posts or writing newsletters. Yet somewhere along the way, “marketing” became a full-time job on top of your real one.
The truth? Marketing doesn’t have to be loud, complicated, or constant. With the right mindset and rhythm, it can be simple, human, and sustainable.
Here’s how to build your own anti-burnout marketing plan inspired by that episode.

Let’s start with a mindset shift: Marketing isn’t about posting more, it’s about communicating clearly what you do, who you serve, and why it matters.
The goal isn’t volume; it’s connection.
Travel agents can sometimes fall into the “specials trap,” focusing their energy on deals and discounts. But clients don’t buy trips, they buy outcomes. They’re looking for someone who understands their travel style, their time, and their dreams.
✅ Instead of: “Save 10% on Europe river cruises.”
✨ Try: “Let’s find the river cruise that fits your travel style.”
You don’t need a 40-hour marketing schedule, you just need a rhythm. Here’s a simple routine to keep visibility consistent without overwhelm:
The best marketing isn’t always public—it’s personal.
A check-in email, a phone call, or a simple “How was your trip?” message can be just as powerful as a social post.
Automation can remind you when to connect, but it can’t replace the connection itself. Use tools like Travefy’s CRM to set those reminders so you can show up when it matters most.
Instead of blasting specials, share stories. Segment your contacts by interests: families, cruise lovers, luxury travelers, etc. and personalize what you send.
If only 20 people open your email, that’s 20 real humans who chose to hear from you. Imagine them sitting in a room with you… that's a meaningful impact!
Marketing is momentum-based, it compounds over time. Give any new strategy 90 days before deciding if it works. During that window, track small wins: open rates, inquiries, repeat bookings, even conversations.
You’re planting seeds. Some will sprout next week, others next season—but they’ll only grow if you keep watering them.

Before you close this tab, take one small action. Reach out to one past client or local contact today.
Check in, share something valuable, or simply say hello. That’s marketing and it all counts.
