About Me
Travel Advisor | Bob Family Travel Team at TravelOnly Inc.

I found my passion for travel back in high school. My first summer job at the age of 16 was at the local visitor information centre. People from all over the world came to my fishing village on the South Shore. Their objective was to immerse themselves in the culture and vibrant heritage of coastal communities in Nova Scotia. For three years, I counselled visitors on what they should see and do from a local's perspective. At the same time I got to ask visitors where they were from and what their countries are known for. I decided I would get a degree in tourism after high school. One day I knew I would have the opportunity to travel the world and see these places I had heard about.

In 2013 during the last year of my Bachelor of Tourism degree, I did a year abroad in Spain. The experience gave me a second language (Spanish) and many stamps in my passport. I learned about different cultures and listened to fascinating stories from people I met. When I moved back to Canada the following year, I became an Associate with TravelOnly. This allowed me to advise on travel experiences not only in Canada, but the entire world!

In 2023, Pat Probert who is the owner of Bob Family Travel along with Pat's partner and Bob Family's cruise manager Mary de Almeida (based out of Ontario) asked me to join The Bob Family to be part of their award winning team at TravelOnly. I met Pat and Mary back in 2015 when they came to Halifax to offer advisors in Nova Scotia cruise training. Over the years I kept in touch with Pat and Mary. They were thrilled to find out I was moving to British Columbia from Nova Scotia to pursue my Masters degree in Tourism Management. They offered me a flexible position as an affiliate on their team. Since joining The Bob Family, I've been able to work full time as a Travel Advisor and complete my masters degree.

When people ask me what my favourite way to travel is, I always say Local Travel. I want to see the destination through the eyes of the locals who reside in the places I explore. Sometimes I travel solo when family and friends aren't able to come with me. But I'm never alone! I usually go with a small group adventure tour operator. I meet like minded people from around the world who quickly become friends as we explore together.
