DESCRIPTION:
- Pick up at 8:30 am, your driver will pick you up at the port with a sign in hand and your name on(you’ll see him as soon as you walk out of the gangway) and drive you to Rome.
- You’ll start out with a visit to the Colosseum (from the outside). After a 90 minute drive, you will reach the area of the Colosseum, where, from a privileged spot, your driver will start to illustrate a lot of facts and history about this amazing monument. After the explanations you will have some time (approx. 20 minutes to take a little stroll closer to it).
- Done with the Colosseum you will stop on the side of Circus Maximus and admire what is left of it with the view of the Palatine Hill. You’ll go by the so called “Road of the Temples” and over to the current heart of the city with the view of the Palatine Hill and Piazza Venezia with 2 very important monuments/sites (the so called “Wedding Cake – or Monument dedicated to the first king of Italy and the view of the sadly famous balcony of Mussolini).
- A view of the Roman Forum followed by stops to Pantheon, Trevi Fountain where you will toss your coin and wish to come back to our city and of course Spanish Steps.
- After your little break for lunch, your driver will escort you all the way in front of the Vatican Museums from where you’ll start the brief but intense visit of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and – if opened – Saint Peter’s Basilica. You will pre-purchase your entrance tickets through us so that you will be right in. We highly suggest that you hire one of our walking guides for a 2.5 hour private guided tour in the Vatican, and if so, please let us know so that we can arrange it for you at an extra cost.
