Stockholm is a city built across 14 islands, with another 30,000 waiting just beyond. In December, the city comes alive with art, light installations and festive traditions, while the surrounding archipelago offers a quieter side of Sweden.
This press trip is designed with the introvert travelers in mind. Those who enjoy good company and memorable experiences, but also value time and space to recharge. It's about finding the right balance between social activities, new discoveries and moments to yourself.
During our stay, we'll explore contemporary art at the Princess Estelle Sculpture Park on Royal Djurgården, experience Nobel Week Lights and meet some of the artists behind the installations. We'll also discover Stockholm's quieter corners and stay at Hotel Skeppsholmen, where the city's vibrant pulse feels a world away – but is just around the corner.
The journey then continues into the Stockholm Archipelago, where we'll explore part of the Stockholm Archipelago Trail and enjoy an outdoor lunch surrounded by nature. There will be time for a traditional Swedish Christmas dinner, a relaxing sauna and, for those feeling adventurous, a refreshing winter dip in the Baltic Sea.
Throughout the trip, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with others, but also time to explore at your own pace.
In the archipelago, December marks Glimmering Season – a time to enjoy the quieter side of island life, with winter landscapes, fresh sea air and the soft glow of the season.
