This is a WWII road trip for a mother and adult son who want to self-drive to important WWII sights throughout France & Germany. The were very interested in the history of WWII France and not really interested in the major tourist sites. They preferred to stay in smaller, more locally owned accommodations instead of bigger, chain hotels. The Maginot Line was very important to them. They are going to visit Heidelberg Germany as that is where her late husband has ancestry from. I suggested Luxembourg as well to visit other holocaust sites and Battle of the Bulge. They really wanted to visit Dunkirk and Normandy and we added Saint-Nazaire Submarine base as they felt it was important to see.
