Sacred. Mysterious. Remote. Beautiful. Nestled away in south-central Africa lies one of our continent’s most unrivalled gems: Northern Zambia. Cascading rivers, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful lakes dominate this remote, uncommercial piece of the planet. Truly a water wonderland (an estimated 30% of all fresh water in Africa sprouts from Zambia’s mainly Northern provinces), it is home to the Chambeshi River (headwaters of the mighty Congo River), Lake Bangweulu, Lake Mweru and Lake Tanganyika. It is against this enchanting backdrop that our two-week Chasing Waterfalls photography adventure plays out!
This 15 Day all-women, photography expedition starts in the capital, Lusaka, and finishes at Victoria Falls (a World Heritage Site known as Mosi-Oa-Tunya or ‘The Smoke that Thunders’).Fully submerged in Mama Africa’s territory, you must march to her ancient drumbeats! Come prepared for an adventure – with bumpy dirt roads, amazing wildlife, breathtaking scenery, and a lifetime of memories.
Our route takes us through far-flung, traditional villages and national parks famed for their incredible game sitings. Travelling with two vehicles and a few private charters, our small group will be hosted by highly experienced African adventurer and humanitarian, Carla Geyser, and landscape and nature photographer, Fiona McLean, who will provide daily briefings on the regions visited and routes and roads ahead.
