8 Days Kilimanjaro Expedition: Lemosho Glades Route Through the Northern Circuit
The Lemosho Glades route, embarked upon via the northern circuit, stands as a rare fusion of paths, ranking among the longest distances on Kilimanjaro and one of its least traversed. Venturing through this route unveils some of the most untamed and secluded corners of Africa. Beginning at a lofty elevation, our journey commences with a deliberate and gentle pace. Winding towards the western periphery of the Shira Plateau, the expedition across this plateau is hailed as a mesmerizing odyssey through Africa's splendor.
On the fifth day, we veer away from the conventional tourist paths, setting course along the mountain's northern facade, offering captivating vistas towards Kenya and the renowned Amboseli National Park. The breathtaking trek along the northern circuit presents glimpses of wildlife such as eland, klipspringer, and traces of various other species like buffalo, elephant, and leopard. This path, less frequented by fellow travelers, promises a more intimate communion with nature.
Our ascent to the summit unfolds via the eastward route, passing through the historic Hans Meyer Cave, the pioneering track blazed in 1889. Progressing towards the summit via Gillman's and Stella Point, we are granted a close encounter with Kilimanjaro's diminishing glaciers, culminating in an unforgettable vista.
