Travel with us once again to the Emerald Isle and experience the charm, beauty and rich cultural heritage of Ireland; a destination rich in history, folklore, storytelling, traditional Irish music and picturesque landscapes. Our journey will take us through the rugged landscapes of The Burren and on up to Galway and Connemara, to the beautiful coastal village of Spiddal, and along the Wild Atlantic Way. Most Irish Mainers' stories begin in this region, and you'll immediately see why Maine felt like home to so many Irish. We will spend time on the Clare coast, including the majestic Burren region and The Cliffs of Moher, take in some beautiful villages, such as Foynes, steeped in aviation history and beyond. Next up will be Tralee, a very genuine town, where you are guaranteed to encounter the genuine essence of Ireland as you escape the busy tourist centers. From there, it's onto the beloved seaside town of Dingle and hug the coast of the scenic Slea Head Drive, making stops to admire rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and the Blasket Islands dotting the horizon. Our journey next takes us inland along the backroads, where we will see a tapestry of ancient ruins, historic towns, and rolling farmlands. We will visit Cahir,The Rock of Cashel, and Kilkenny and top off our trip with a 2-night stay in the carriage cottages on the grounds of Kilkea Castle. There will also be ample time for independent exploration: shopping, pub hopping, sightseeing, and free time to explore the dynamic food scene.
