You are invited to join Victoria and Michael on a two week tour of South Africa, curated by Elán with the world’s leading Motorcycle Expedition Experts, Ayres Adventures. This adventure will feature:
Carefully Vetted Accommodations and Dining Venues. The small size of our group (a total of 12 guests) has enabled us to specify smaller boutique hotels and lodges that have been carefully chosen to reflect a sense of place. Our focus in choosing restaurants has been to select those that reflect local traditions and a high level of culinary excellence. Although for some overnight stops the most interesting dining may be at our hotel, we will typically dine in nearby, highly rated restaurants, where riders can experience cuisine that features local ingredients and preparations in comfortable settings. You will not be restricted to a limited choice, “tour group” or “set” menus and we will include non-alcoholic beverages with our dinners. Our guests may order whatever they like, à la carte. The food in South Africa is amazing.
Small, Intimate Group. This adventure has been limited to a total of 12 guests, plus two guides. We want you to feel as though you haven’t been on a “tour” at all, but have had a wonderful adventure with a small group of friends.
Experienced Tour Leaders. Ayres’ tour leaders are the best in the business. They are totally committed (and empowered) to operate in accordance with “The Ayres Adventures Style”. Two highly experienced guides will accompany our group.
Late Model, Quality BMW Motorcycles. We will provide late-model BMW motorcycles, with a variety of options to upgrade (at extra cost).
Exciting Activities Included in Tour Price. Our Adventure will include exciting activities in the tour price, including extended periods of time on a private game preserve and in Kruger National Park, where you will be able to be part of several game drives.
Luggage Handling and Support. We have specified a luxury van (Mercedes or equivalent) as our support vehicle. This will permit those non-riding guests who prefer not to ride on their partner’s motorcycle, or who wish to take occasional breaks, to ride in luxury and comfort, while experiencing every aspect of the Adventure. This Adventure will feature a “leave the luggage to us” policy. We won’t just load and unload your baggage from the support vehicle – it will be delivered between your room and the support vehicle.
Airport Transfers. Assuming that you arrive on our scheduled arrival day, we’ll meet your flight and escort you to your hotel . We’ll also accompany you to your flight at the conclusion of your adventure.
Pre- and Post-Adventure Options. Those who arrive early may avail themselves of the opportunity to spend extra time at Cape Grace, our luxurious hotel in Cape Town. Should you desire to continue on to further destinations within Africa or elsewhere after our Adventure, we will offer that option through our trusted partners in Africa.
Comprehensive Trip Planning and Support Materials. We will provide a customized copy of our trip planning booklet, “The Plan Ahead”, in advance of the trip. The booklet provides a day-by-day itinerary with suggestions on “must see” attractions along the way. We also provide maps and route instructions. You can ride with a tour leader, ride by yourself, or ride with a few other Adventurers, as you wish.
The Adventurer Club. You will be enrolled in the most generous frequent traveler award program in the industry, Ayres’ Adventurer Club. It’s simple and straightforward and available for both riders and co-riders. There are no “blackout periods”, award expiration dates, or trips that are not eligible for award use.
