Medicine, Repellent, and More

  • Rather avoid taking medicine for sea-sickness? Try the Sea-Band (Amazon) Accupressure Bands. They offer relief by applying pressure to your wrists. I've used them a couple of times with great success.

  • Avoid sand fleas and mosquitos off and on the beach with Repel 100 Insect Repellent (Amazon). This stuff is pretty strong.
     
  • These Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizers (Amazon) come in unique colors and scents if you're looking for an alternative to the chemical smelling Purell. Definitely handy before partaking in the buffet.

  •  Dirty clothes? Try these Tide Sink Packs Laundry Detergent (Amazon). Each packet is 0.51 FL OZ so they're the perfect amount for a small load.

  • Even in suites aboard a ship the bathrooms are TINY and don't have the best ventilation. Avoid funky bathroom odors with Poo-Pourri Before You Go Toilet Spray (Amazon). This is travel-sized so it won't take up too much room in your luggage.
Technology and Gear

  • Don't get stuck in your stateroom charging your phone. Make sure you bring a power bank like this INIU Portable Charger (Amazon).

  • Want to take a selfie, but you're by the water? Or perhaps IN the water? Use one of these Floating Waterproof Phone Pouches (Amazon) to avoid any phone mishaps.

  • Some cruises are trying to reduce the amount of waste on board. So, things like single-use water bottles aren't always available. Stay hydrated with the Naglene Sustain Tritan BPA-Free (Amazon). Comes in great colors, is very sturdy, and you can fill it up before you go ashore.

Not 100% essential, but might enhance your trip

  • Probably the most controversial item on this list, Danmu Beach Towel Clips (Amazon), they DO prevent the wind from whipping your towel onto a wet lido deck, but DO they really save your chair if it's unoccupied for hours? We'll let you decide.

  • If you want to communicate with friends or strangers or strange friends the old-fashioned way, add 12"x8" Magnetic Whiteboard (Amazon) to the outside of your stateroom door. It'll make returning to your stateroom an unexpected surprise.

  • Chances are there will be a glow party on board. Bring your own glow sticks (Amazon) and light up the night.
