Sioux Empire Travel was born in 2017, when Tyson Wharton made the shift from directing a childcare center to helping people plan their travel. Tyson had always loved to travel, but it was honestly his wife who had been the travel agent for years. At first, Tyson was primarily interested in the business on his wife’s behalf, hoping the two of them would go into business together. Tyson is an avid traveler and a natural entrepreneur, so he was sure they would make a great team. Then his wife was offered an amazing position as a headhunter that she took and fell in love with, and Tyson was left with a big decision. Did he want to start this business and grow it alone?
It didn’t take him long to answer that question with a resounding “yes.” All it took was that very first client, and Tyson was hooked. He built on the momentum of that first client, learning from other travel agent’s mistakes, and heeding his wife’s advice and counsel. For two years now, he has been delighted to help people create the experiences of their dreams, take grand adventures and make time to relax, and reconnect to their joy. Travel, for Tyson, is the easiest business to be in, because it really is good for you in so many ways, from mental and physical health to improving and nurturing relationships.
