Kerala, a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It's known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. Inland are the Western Ghats, mountains whose slopes support tea, coffee and spice plantations as well as wildlife. National parks like Periyar are home to elephants, langur monkeys and tigers.

Maharajah Tours takes you on your personal odyssey exploring the fresh backwaters of Alleppey with an overnight stay on a luxury houseboat, Periyar National Wildlife Park by launch, the tea and spice gardens of Munnar and across the border into Tamil Nadu and the world famous Meenakshi Amman Temple.

Then, and after two days of relaxing on the white sand lighthouse beach resort of Kovalam we will move to our 5 Star Luxury Spa Hotel in Fort Kochi for a 2 day Ayurveda detox retreat that includes yoga, meditation, pranayama massage, herbal steam baths and delicious healthy vegetarian meals. You will return home having been recharged and refreshed.

But before that you will have a full day to explore the wonderful markets and historical fort area of old Kochi.
